The children of the Enterprise are kidnapped by a dying race who are unable to have children of their own.
>TRIVIA
- This marks Jerry Hardin's first Star Trek appearance. He appeared later as Samuel Clemens in the Season 5 & 6 episodes "Time's Arrow Part I and II" as Dr. Neria in the ST: Voyager episode "Emanations".
- The visual effect of the Enterprise being blasted away from Aldea will later be reused in the Season 2 episode "Q Who" and the Season 3 episode "Tin Man".
- In the original script, the Enterprise was going to seperate and Aldea was going to take the saucer section hostage. However, Executive Producer Gene Roddenberry turned down the idea the moment he heard about it.
- The exterior of Aldea will be later reused as Vagra II in the Season 1 episode "Skin of Evil".
- This marks Paul Lambert's first of second Star Trek appearances. He will later appear as Howard Clark in the Season 4 episode "Devil's Due".
