>ABOUT
Picard suspects a conspiracy in the highest ranks of Starfleet and the Enterprise returns to Earth to demand an answer as to what's happening.
>TRIVIA
- Wil Wheaton (Wesley Crusher) does not appear in this episode.
- A noticed filming error was when Riker tells Geordi to increase to warp 6 and Geordi replies "aye sir, full impulse". However, most Star Trek sources and sites do not include this piece of information because they believe it to be "nitpicking".
- This episode marks the first appearance of Earth on TNG.
- When Data is commenting on the orders he has read, the computer responds "thank you, sir, I comprehend". This is the only time in all of Star Trek when a computer uses the first-person narrative "I".
- While the producers had originally intended for storyline of this episode to lead to the Season 2 episode "Q Who" and for the parasites to be the Borg, budget costs prevented this from happening.
- Robert Schenkkan (Lt. Cmdr. Remmick) and Ward Costello (Gregory Quinn) make a final appearance in this episode.
