The Enterprise is transporting delegates who are lethal enemies. While passing through an energy cloud, the minds of Dr Crusher, Worf and Captain Picard are taken over, with fatal consequences.
>TRIVIA
- This is the second appearance of Colm Meaney on Star Trek: The Next Generation. Although he is now wearing his regular gold uniform, for the only time on the series, he is a security guard and his character is not named O'Brien until the Season 2 episode "Unnatural Selection".
- Marc Alaimo makes his first Star Trek appearance as Badar N'D'D. He went on to be Tebok in the Season 1 episode "The Neutral Zone", Gul Macet in the Season 4 episode "The Wounded", and Frederick La Ronque in the Season 5 episode "Time's Arrow, Part I".
- This is the only time Dr Crusher is seen wearing medical eyewear.
- Chief Engineer Singh was the first character on the Enterprise to die in this series.
